PROFESSIONAL PROFILE DESCRIPTION

The professional figure knows the history of jewelry and the styles of each period; knows the nomenclature of gemstones and can recognize their main cuts. They interpret and carry out the design of the item to be worked on.

Obtaining the professional qualification is essential for practicing as an independent professional and for employment in companies in the sector.

TECHNICAL-PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Promotion of equal opportunity conditions in the workplace and related regulations

• Basics of ecology and the environment, sustainable development, and any relevant sector regulations

• IT and web: theoretical knowledge and practical use of tools

• Rules for prevention and protection in the workplace (Legislative Decree 626/94 and subsequent amendments and additions)

• Basic information on legislation regarding workers' rights and duties, including reference to the characteristics of standard and non-standard employment contracts. Collective bargaining

• Basic information on the current tax system

• Basics of project financing: incentive laws, structural funds, self-employment

• Tradition, goldsmithing, and precious materials in Italy and Europe

• Characteristics and styles of local workmanship

• History of jewelry: the various styles of different eras, the cut, the creation of the prototype, and the development of the jewelry piece

• Fundamentals of physics and chemistry

• Precious metals and alloys: characteristics and processing techniques, casting, and engraving

• Execution, reading, and interpretation of technical and artistic drawings

• Planning the processing stages of the object

• Preparation of materials and use of tools
