FIRE SAFETY

The fire safety course, made mandatory by Legislative Decree 81/08 (formerly 626/94) and subsequent amendments and additions, defines the obligations placed on the employer regarding the information to be provided to workers and the actions to be taken in the event of fire risk. The course is structured into three levels according to the level of risk, namely low, medium, and high (4, 8, and 12 hours), and is divided into a theoretical and a practical part with firefighting exercises. The main topics covered are as follows:

  • fire safety information and training;

  • fuel, oxidizing agent;

  • flash point and combustion products;

  • the fire triangle;

  • respiratory protection and self-contained breathing apparatus;

  • classification of fires;

  • fire safety information;

  • risk assessment;

  • escape routes;

  • door opening systems, signage indicating escape routes and emergency exits;

  • behavioral principles to prevent and limit fire risk and behavior to adopt in the event of a fire;

  • rescue signs and symbols;

  • procedures to be adopted in the event of a fire;

  • extinguishers;

  • detection, alarm, evacuation, and how to call the fire brigade;

  • hazard labels for goods in transport;

  • hazard symbols and indications;
